Meenakshi Lekhi, MP, India, AQA delegate, Ms. Mwende Mwololo, AQA Consultant. Consultations were held with key experts at UNEP with a focus on AQA pilot countries. AQA President made a statement at the Leadership Dialogues as a civil society organization and Hon. Lekhi did a press conference with Indian press. Meetings were also held with potential new countries in the Asia region and exploratory discussions were held with countries in Africa and the Americas who are interested in the AQA model. AQA President also planted an indigenous tree in Karura Forest in memory of the late Nobel Laureate Wangaari Mathai, underscoring the role of urban forests in maintaining air quality.
A key feature of the Assembly’s structure was the launch of a series of high–level, interactive Leadership Dialogues designed to provide participating Ministers, private sector leaders, and other leading personalities with an opportunity to intensify high-level engagement and discuss and articulate solutions and contributions towards a pollution–free planet, providing strategic direction and setting the foundations and accelerating action on the pollution agenda.
