On December 7, 2020 AirQualityAsia, in cooperation with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), held the Fourth Round-Table Consultations on the theme “Clearing the Air – Driving central and state level actions.”
The event was inaugurated by Minister for Environment, Forestry and Climate Change Hon. Prakash Javadekar and Hon. Shri Dr. Shashi Tharoor, MP, Chair, Committee on Information Technology, Board Member, AQA and Dr. Ajay Mathur, Director-General, TERI; Member, Prime Minister’s Council on Climate Change.
Political Action-State-Level actions for air pollution control panel was addressed by State minister Hon. Aaditya Thackeray, Minister of Environment, Maharashtra and Hon. Smt. Ambica Singh Deo, MLA, Government of Chhattisgarh, who discussed pragmatic measures for strengthening clean air initiatives in their respective states.
Senior parliamentarian Hon. Meenakshi Lekhi, MP, moderated the expert discussion by Dr. Prashant Gargava, Member Secretary, Central Pollution Control Board, Dr. Ashok Kumar Ghosh, Chairman, Bihar State Pollution Control Board and Dr. M P George, Scientist C-Air Lab, Delhi Pollution Control Committee. Dr. Sumit Sharma, TERI and Shazia Z Rafi, AQA President & Convenor gave the concluding remarks and the vote of thanks was presented by Hon. Mathew J. Nolan, Treasurer, AQA.
