On the sidelines of the World Bank Spring Meetings, AirQualityAsia convened its inaugural High-Level Strategy Session at the US-Asia Institute to discuss key issues related to global economic development, its impact on air quality levels around the world and the effects of deteriorating air quality on regional economies.
It brought together legislators and experts from the public and private sectors to talk on critical issues pertaining to impacts of air pollution on health, morbidity, economy and agriculture, and political and policy challenges and solutions to renewable energy development. Attendees worked over the two days to develop a plan of action for improving air quality in Asia. The pilot countries included in the first phase are India, Indonesia, and Pakistan.
